The regional clinic provides educational assessment services to communities in the Campaspe and Goulburn Valley regions of Victoria. UMPC visits these areas twice per year and provides assessment in the local community.

Psychological assessments are conducted by provisionally registered psychologists who are currently undertaking advanced training in the Master of Educational & Developmental Psychology program. All services are closely supervised by a team of lecturers and experienced senior psychologists.

The regional clinic offers psycho-educational assessments for children and adolescents which measure cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses. Assessments explore difficulties in intellectual functioning, learning, memory, academic ability, adaptive functioning, attention and concentration that can help determine whether someone has a specific learning disorder, intellectual disability or other developmental disorder.

Referrals to the regional clinic are facilitated through local partnership schools and community agencies. Children are generally referred for these assessments when they are having difficulties at school. For more information about the regional clinic please contact clinic-psych@unimelb.edu.au.
